Grade 2 Homework (Week 24): Distributed: Friday, March 14th Due: Friday, March 21st

1. Literacy: Read your leveled reading book aloud to your parents for 15-20 minutes per night. Remember to fill out your reading log. Turn in your Reading Log on Friday. 2. Spelling: Go to the Spelling City Website at: http://www.spellingcity.com/grade2bifs/ Then click on your Spelling List. Try one activity per night. There will be a spelling quiz on Friday. 3. Mad Minutes Ask your mom or dad to copy the multiplication worksheets which your teacher gave you. Practice a different Mad Minute sheet about 3-4 nights per week depending on how much or how little practice you need. Be prepared for a 1 minute quiz on Thursday or Friday of every week. 4. Typing practice: Practice your typing on the following website 2-3 times per week. Start with Level 1 and move to higher levels as you improve. http://www.bbc.co.uk/schools/typing/ 5. Student Led Conferences: Please remind your parents to attend the Student Led Conferences on Thursday, March 20th starting at 1:33 PM sharp. Mr. Heeres class will begin in the computer lab on the 3rd floor. Ms. Waldmans class will begin in the Music Room on the 5th floor. 6. Friday, March 21st is half day at school, please remind your parents! There is less homework this week, so please spend more time with your family, exercise more or try some bonus homework assignments. Optional Bonus Homework:
Literacy: Make a list of 20 adjectives (describing words) that are in a book that you are reading at home. Literacy: Make a list of 3-5 sound words, 3-5 taste words, 3-5 sight words, 3-5 touch or feel words and 3-5 smell words that are in a book that you are reading at home. Math/Spelling (DOUBLE VALUE ADDITION): If A = 2, B = 4, C = 6, D = 8, E = 10, and so on Find the total value of each one of your spelling words. Show your work. Basic Example: DAD = 8 + 2 + 8 = 18 Math: Create a Math Subtraction Video showing (and teaching) your classmates how to subtract 2-digit, 3-digit and 4digit numbers with regrouping. Weebly websites: Add new entries to your personal or fun page using the following ideas: video clips, audio clips, photos, slideshows, journal entries, poems, letters, stories, etc.
