VOTING SYSTEM in AUSTRALIA INTRODUCTION
! !
The use of Paper Ballot is a recent issue on the political and technological debates in Australia.! The Paper Ballot system was introduced in 1858 in Australia and still it is the election voting method (AEC).!

! !

Since 2013, AEC have been investigating many cases of multiple votes through the last elections.! Specialists argue about the pros and cons of the paper ballot and electronic voting methods.

PAPER BALLOT is a paper document that records electors vote during an election.

PAPER BALLOT
The implementation of a secure paper ballot system is easier (Antony, 2012).

ELECTRONIC VOTING
It is a long-term investment (NCC).

PROS

PROS

It does not depend of the use of high technology (NCC). It can be counted again, if there is a suppose error (Jones, 2001) The Paper Ballot system cannot advertise if there is a fault (Smith, 2001). It is easier to encouter frauds (Antony, 2012). It spends too much time to vote and to count (Lin and Espinoza, 2007).!

The world is now facing a new technological era (Smith, 2001)

It is designed with high levels of security using encryption technologies (Smith, 2001) Voters cannot verify if their votes are inside of the electronic voting system (Lin and Espinoza, 2007) It is easier to encounter attack by hackers (Jones, 2001). It increases the number of proccess, creating a bigger probability of error (Lin and Espinoza, 2007).!
