MONDAY DATE: March 17, 2014


READING: Answer the following question- What are text features? SPELLING: Working with plus le syllables. Please say each word 5 times- wood, wooden, reach, reaches, way, highway, be, between, root, uprooted, inside, replace, complete, measure, questions MATH: Problem solving- please write the problem and show all your work. Cassandras mom baked 45 cupcakes for her birthday party. Twenty- eight children attended her party and they each ate one cupcake. How many cupcakes are left? WRITING: Create a list on the topic Spring Break and list things you did during spring break

TUESDAY

DATE: March 18, 2014

READING: Choose a book and read. Then describe what happened in the story by retelling the events of the story in chronological order. SPELLING: Write each word 5 times and practice reading them to a parent. MATH: 2 Using graph paper provided- make a graph using the following information: Noah counts the flowers in his garden, He sees 5 red flowers, 7 purple flowers, 4 orange flowers, 9 yellow flowers. Make a bar graph to show all the flowers that Noah has in his garden

DATE: March 19, 2014

READING: Read your spelling words and choose 6 words and write a sentence for that word. Make sure your sentence has a subject and predicate. SPELLING: Write each word in alphabetical order, and practice saying your words. MATH: Problem Solving- Looking at the graph about flowers you created from yesterday, write and solve a one step word problem ( addition or subtraction) to go with the data in your graph WRITING: Using your topic Spring break. Write a paragraph about what you and your family did during Spring Break. Be sure to use the correct grammar.

THURSDAY

DATE: March 20, 2014

READING: Choose a book to read and write the author, title of book and illustrator, and describe the setting, characters, problem, and solution. Write a brief summary on what the authors purpose is, and what is the topic of the book. SPELLING: Sort out spelling words by syllables. And highlight or circle the le syllable in each word. MATH: problem solving- Joe and his brother Fred went to the beach to collect shells. Joe collected 49 shells and Fred collected 61 shells. Write a number sentence to show how many more shells Fred collected than Joe? Please write the problem down and show all your work. WRITING: Continue working on your paragraph and have an adult edit your work.
