Taught general music to children K-5 in a supervised practicum under John Paul Velez. Lessons emphasized Kodly and Orff techniques that emphasized creativity and music literacy. Created lessons that involved movement and active listening. Lesson content correlated to the National Standards for Music Education. Utilized differentiated instruction to meet individual learning needs.

Spring 2013

Princeton Day School, Princeton, New Jersey

Conducted and worked with eighth grade choir. Developed warm-ups that addressed vocal and musical issues in the repertoire while encouraging good technique. Taught 6th grade general music, specifically music history and creativity in music making.

Fall 2013

Hopewell Valley Central High School, Pennington, NJ

Conducted auditioned mixed choir, auditioned womens choir, large mixed ensemble, and both the freshmen men and women choirs. Constructed integrated choral warm-ups that enforced proper choral technique and healthy vocal habits. Prepared and conducted several pieces on the Spring program. Ran sectionals for all voice parts.

Spring 2014

Westminster Summer Choral Festival

Attended and participated in several conducting master classes under Joe Miller and Dirk Garner. Attended seminars on the works performed and on early music and jazz given by conducting fellows. Performed major choral works, including Bachs B Minor Mass, Handels Israel and Egypt, and Durufles Requiem.
