Grand Opening of Fanshawe Colleges Downtown Campus

October 1st 2013 (London, Ontario) Fanshawe College is celebrating the grand opening of the downtown location of Fanshawes Centre for Performance and Digital Arts, located at 137 Dundas Street near Richmond Street. Fanshawe College is proud to announce that its new downtown location will house 200 students to start. The developing space of 110,000 square feet will ultimately accommodate more than 1,000 students and 75 staff members. The downtown addition is six stories and will house over 50,000 sq. ft. of brand new labs, classrooms and student collaboration space. The downtown building will offer programs including: Theatre Production, Interactive Media, and 3-D Animation. We are incredibly proud to announce the grand opening of our downtown Centre for Performance and Digital Arts. This opening symbolizes our appreciation for the Arts, and as an integral element of the London educational mosaic, we are pleased to expand our learning facilities to accommodate Fanshawe Arts students in the downtown core. This is investing that aligns itself with our mandate to consistently engage our students and facilitate an exception learning experience, says Fanshawe College President, Peter Devlin. The new downtown campus is not the only learning space that Fanshawe College is adding to Londons downtown cityscape. Over the next ten years, Fanshawe will acquire other buildings - possibly including heritage properties in the downtown core. Continuously striving to enhance Londons livelihood, it is expected that the Centre for Performance and Digital Arts will contribute $80 million annually to the local economy. The proud addition to Fanshawes budding campus represents the first phase of a proposed $40 million plan for the Centre for Performance and Digital Arts.
