London City University Hold Press Conference on Animal Research on Campus


Wednesday, February 19, 2014 London City University would like to invite you to a press conference regarding recent issues regarding our research mandate. The ethics of London City University have been called in to question, and we would like to take this opportunity to address those issues. London City University is an advocate for safety and animal safety during research. We uphold the highest standards of health and safety when allowing our students to have a valuable education. The use of animals (i.e. rats, mice, and rhesus monkeys) is instrumental to our students learning practices and we assure the community that no harm was caused to the animals. As an educational institution built on history, and respect of the community, we support animal rights and freedoms. Though we respect the views of all animal rights activists, we do not condone trespassing, nor do we allow the stealing of university property. Media Interview Times: President of the University, Dr. Akshay Nath, Dean of Students, Dr. Robert Marnie, and Chair of the Medical School, Dr. Ishani Kapil will all be available for interviews after the conference between 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 4th 2014.
