10 minute read introductory story Brave Girl: Clara and the Shirtmakers strike of 10 minute 1909 and let children expression their reaction to it 30 minute in table groups pick the best questions to ask then review how we treat guests introduce immigrant guests; why did they come? What was hard to accept? One great or terrible interaction story? What do they do here for society?

Discuss and note in chart Canada actively recruits/ recruited some what gov. does what gov should do 10 minute immigrants. They help us. So together with our guests Id like us what we do what we should do to brainstorm how the government helps or could help. How can we help make them feel at home? Post-Assessment: assess homework option If you chose option 3 yesterday, please write a Thank you note to one of our guests. Mention 2 things you learned and how their story made you feel. Remember to invite them to our Getting the Whole Picture authors conference. If you chose option 1 or 2 yesterday finish up for tomorrow. Transition: Now that we have met some immigrants and heard how immigrants enrich our society, tomorrow we will take a look at pluralism in our society, which it is idea that there is more than one right way to do something. This picture book provides a good example of some of the problems immigrants face and how they overcome them to contribute to society at large.
