Code of Federal Regulations: I. CFR IS divided into 50 titles, then subdivided into chapters, parts and sections: A. Titles: 50 titles that do not correspond to the titles in the U.S.C. B. Chapters: Each chapter is named for the agency that issued the regulation. C. Parts: The parts cover specific regulatory areas. Start by looking in the statute, which will list a corresponding CFR Alternatively, use the index of the CFR Four parts to citation: A. C.F.R. title number B. Abbreviation of set of regulations (e.g., C.F.R.) C. Section symbol and specific section cited (with space between section symbol and section number) D. Date of the CFR edition cited.
