The students will then pass notes asking and answering their questions in their groups of 4. We will then discuss the some of the more commonly brought up questions to ensure that students know the information completely. Class Flow: After the A-set we will move into a small bit of direct instruction about how history is done, rather than just learned. I will talk about the importance of being able to look at a variety of sources, and then synthesize the information into a product that will be presented. For the project the students will be required to discuss how the history of Detroit impacts the current day, and how it will affect their business, and how it impacts the people that live in the Detroit area etc. The rest of the hour will be given to the students to get together with their groups and work on the putting together the historical aspect of their project. (the people, the history of the city.) This will be essential to the project because it will give them information about how the city came to be, which is an essential part of being an informed and effective citizen. I will be walking around answering questions for the students while they are working in their groups. Materials: Students will need all of their notes, and I will have extra copies of all of the materials that we have used in class during this unit so that they can write their historical piece to their proposal.
