Reinforced the concept of number conservation 0:07- 1:02 (the main focus for the lesson) (Also an area for growth) Gave students multiple examples of how they could show the number 8 using Links. I described their peers work as examples. Evidence Identified Strength

#2 Gave clear directions/ modeled thinking 1:02- 1:41 I gave clear directions about my expectations for the new materials being brought to their tables and for the next task. I also modeled how to complete the task while thinking out loud. Evidence Video Clip Identified Strength Use reinforcing language 1:42- 2:01 This was one of my main goals that I wanted to work on during the first six weeks. I do feel like Ive gotten a lot better and this clip is proof of that. Instead of reminding students (which can feel like nagging) I just commented that I noticed something that some of the students were doing. Evidence Video Clip Identified Strength #4 Use reminding language 2:02- 2:06 This was also a goal of mine and is also an area I feel like Ive grown a lot. In this clip, instead of saying raise your hand over and over again. I remind students to show me with a thumbs up when their done instead of using their voice. Evidence Video Clip Identified Strength Gave clear directions, thoroughly explained next task, drew on students 2:07- 4:10 answers to help explain task and expectations I gave clear directions of what was expected: use a pencil to write 2s on both lines, start at the top and go to the bottom, write a 2 everywhere you see a dot. I used student responses to help direct the explanation (although I wish I had used voiceovers less). I also used non-verbal cues to help remind students to raise their hands. #5 #3

Modeled multiple ways a student could show 2 in a five-frame. Obtained 4:11- 5:03 students help/ engaged students during explanation of task. I showed students different ways they could show the number 2 in a five-frame and asked their opinions for if I was still showing the number 2. Looking back I do wish I had put a third dot in the five-frame at one point, just to be sure they were actually getting it! Evidence Video Clip Identified Strength #7 Effectively used non-verbal cues to capture class attention 5:04- 5:21 Rather that raising my voice over those who were talking, I gave cue to the students, then waited until they were silent before continuing to talk.

Encourage students to describe their own work/ put their thoughts into words 0:07- 1:02 I described several different ways that students had shown the number 8 on their work mats. I wish I had pushed them to describe their work themselves. Evidence Identified Area for Growth

#3 Using Academic Language 1:42- 2:01 Ive noticed that I can easily use correct Academic Language during the parts of a lesson that are well thought out, but when it comes to reminding or reinforcing students during the lesson, what I say is not always academically accurate. Ex: I said drawing you lines instead of writing your ones Evidence Video Clip Identified Area for Growth #8 Noticing/ allowing chatter 5:22- 5:57 Im not sure if its because the camera was so close to their table or if this particular group of students was just very chatty (or perhaps a combination of the two) but my videos picked up a lot of loud chatter. I think I need to get better at noticing and stopping chatter that could be distracting to others. I think a simple statement of I hear a lot of chatter right now, this is a quite work time. Or even Thank you ____ tub table for sitting quietly.

#9 Using guided discovery during lessons 5:58- 6:09 My lesson plans had that I would have the students count the boxes with me and then talk briefly about it so we could discover the five frame together. Somehow I forgot to do that, and I think that it was important to helping the students understand why its called a five frame and how its used. Evidence Video Clip Identified Area for Growth #10 Closing mini lessons 6:10- 6:23 I forgot to close my mini-lesson (twice). The concept of using five/ten-frames to order numbers is a big part of the curriculum and I had planned to close by having all the students at the table order the five-frames from smallest to largest. It would have been good practice for them. Evidence Video Clip Identified Area for Growth #11- 14 Fidgeting with my hair 6:24- 6:39 These for clips were only a few of the clips I have showing me touching my hair. Watching the videos, it became very distracting when I would touch my hair every few minutes. I need to become aware of this habit so that it doesnt distract those who are watching me when I complete the TPA or am observed in my classroom.
