Warm-up: Quick Write- What have you learned about the population of Detroit? How does this relate to mathematics, specifically linear equations? Introduce systems of linear equations. o Concept Attainment Map- Systems of linear equations o Class discussion about what the students come up with on their webs Begin solving systems of linear equations by graphing o Students will explore graphing two equations on the same coordinate grid o Students will examine the point at which the two lines intersect o Class discussion about what this point may represent o Class discussion about what it would mean when two population graphs intersect Learning Log: What do you need more practice on? What would be helpful to spend some time on in class tomorrow?
