S4CS2. Students will have the computation and estimation skills necessary for analyzing data and following scientific explanations. Students will recognize that: a. Add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers mentally, on paper, and with a calculator. c. Judge whether measurements and computations of quantities, such as length, area, volume, weight, or time, are reasonable answers to scientific problems by comparing them to typical values.

CC/GPSs:

S4E1. Students will compare and contrast the physical attributes of stars, star patterns, and planets. b. Compare the similarities and differences of planets to the stars in appearance, position, and number in the night sky. 3. Research and Information Fluency - Students apply digital tools to gather, evaluate, and use information. a. Plan strategies to guide inquiry b. Locate, organize, analyze, evaluate, synthesize, and ethically use information from a variety of sources and media c. Evaluate and select information sources and digital tools based on the appropriateness to specific tasks d. Process data and report results The students should be able to research a particular topic in geographic relational astronomy and present it in a unique way. Given the use of the Internet for research, the students will create a digital media presentation in a similar format of the example to share knowledge of different planets with the class to 90% accuracy and completeness.

Description of Assessment
During review of the students digital media submissions, it will become evident if they fully understand the material they studied when reviewing accuracy, and the creative presentation of the assignment with also be taken into consideration. The intention is to convey this in a way that has stopping power to intrigue anyone. The digital media assignment itself will provide insight to the creativity put into the project by the student.

The students will utilize their access to the Internet to research the subject matter pertaining to their project. They are to research the subject and create a presentation using a software program to convey their findings.

If possible, the students should be given more time to creatively design their project. The assignment promotes higher order thinking skills as the students prepare a script as well as creative application with the creation of the project. At the end of the assignment, the students will understand that scholastic sources on the Internet will provide the information that they need, and that they will improve the creative expertise with the use of technological presentation tools. The students will use scholastic sources on the Internet and proper consolation with their teacher.

Future Actions: This assignment gives students the knowledge to be able to perform and compile their own research in a presentable form. It also encourages being able to creatively express themselves in a way that will be completely unique from the other students.
