[give time to see what the students say] "Today, we will start a project in which you can see how the Amendments we've been studying apply to the world todayrather than the late 1700s!" In Class: Attendance, good things Anticipatory set (see above) Hand out the rubric o Read through o Explain the due date (Friday, April 18 at 3:00pm) o Make sure students understand that every day it is late, their grade will go down Pull up the New York Times website and demonstrate how students go about finding an article that relates to the Bill of Rights freedoms

o Ask if anyone needs clarification o Do anotherwith the class's help this time (GRR model introduced here) Tell students their assigned seat in the media center. Remind them that this is not a punishment but rather a help so they do not get distracted and do not have to work on the presentation as homework Dismiss the students to the media center o Walk around the media center making sure students are not only on task but also answer any questions or solve conflicts that come up Stop with about three minutes left in class to take an informal survey o Ask students to raise their hand if they have found three articles, four, etc o Tell them to log off and gather their things. "We will be back in the media center tomorrow to work on the project, however if you feel you need more help I will be in the media center during study hall today and tomorrow! Please utilize the time to do well on the project!"

Summative Assessment: The summative assessment will be gathered based on how students are performing, participating, showing initiative in class. It will not be graded but will be observed and noted if the student turns their project in late or it is inadequately done Homework: None as we will have time to work tomorrow as well

**The lesson plan for Friday will be very similar. The Anticipatory Set, however will be "are there any lingering questions about what is expected of you?" Homework will be that the project to be shared with me by Friday, April 18, by 3:00. Utilize you study hall as I will be in the media center to help!
