The Assassination of JFK. 20%. An extended response (essay) to be written in class under examination conditions. N/A. Tuesday 4 June 2013, Period 2 (Week 6, Term 2). P1.1 describe the role of key individuals, groups and events of selected studies from the eighteenth century to the present P1.2 investigate and explain the key features and issues of selected studies from the eighteenth century to the present P2.1 identify forces and ideas and explain their significance in contributing to change and continuity from the eighteenth century to the present P3.3 comprehend and analyse sources for their usefulness and reliability P3.4 identify and account for differing perspectives and interpretations of the past P4.1 use historical terms and concepts appropriately P4.2 communicate a knowledge and understanding of historical features and issues, using appropriate and well-structured oral and written forms. This assessment task will be an extended response (essay) based upon aspects of the work done in the Assassination of John Fitzgerald Kennedy unit. You will be presented with primary and/or secondary sources to analyse before writing your response. Responses should include the effective use of sources and a detailed knowledge of the unit overall. In preparing for this task, it is advised that you look over the following: 1. Skills of essay writing; 2. Source-interpretation skills; 3. Any handouts given in class; 4. Chapter 8 of Retrospective, i.e. your Modern History textbook.
