It can help my research in the fact that these people have already been identified in some way through behavior but music can very easily change this behavior, or maintain it.

This article is about a survey that was sent out to elderly people. It assessed the uses of music in everyday life and facets of psychological well being. This article is peer reviewed. It can help my research because I am not interested in how music affects just one specific age group but every age group. Identity most likely changes over time and I want to see how that change ties in with music.

The article however is about both arguments, stating that heavy metal does indeed induce strong behaviors and feelings of suicide and depression. This article is peer reviewed. It can really help my research by showing why certain types of music are popular and how people identify with the different styles.

It can help my research by helping me understand why people choose to listen to music because of the feeling they get from it. This can tie into identity by knowing what kind of feelings a person prefers to feel for pleasure.
