Autobiography By Juan C.

Chairez

My name is Juan C. Chairez, I was born on August 24, 1996, in Glendale, California of the United States. I was raised in Los Angeles. My parents are Carlos A. Chairez and Cynthia G. Pintado. My father was born March 17, 1974 in Zacatecas de Guadalupe de Mexico. In 1989, my father moved to the United States. He works for an Amazon packaging company. My mother was born on March 17, 1977 in Glendale, California. She is a housewife. I have three sisters. My oldest sister, Jazmin, is currently in college studying psychology. My little sister, Jessica, goes to Carver Middle school. My youngest sister, Janet, goes to San Miguel Elementary. We all live together as a big family.

In 2000, I went to Holmes Elementary. After changing a few elementary schools I went to Los Angeles Academy Middle School. Later, at Tobinworld High School I felt it was not academically challenging enough for me, so in 2011 I transferred to ECF/Kayne ERAS Center. At this school I took Geometry, Algebra 1 and 2, Expository Writing, Psychology, Biology, and Inter-coordinated Science.

My greatest challenge is my visual impairment, for which I developed strategies to do my work. I use a magnifier lens and enlarged print work. In the near future, I plan on having laser eye surgery, and I hope my vision will improve. I have learned that no matter how big the obstacle it can be overcome. So, no matter the odds against me I will always try to achieve my goal. I have learned that my experience can be used to help others, and that is how I grew as a person.

I have many skills and talents that make me a great student. I am a quick learner and this is my greatest strength. I am good at math and spelling and I also have a great memory, which helps me academically. My talent is that I can draw well. I will use my skills and talent to comprehend car design diagrams. I plan to use these skills and talents to create the next generation car that runs on electricity.

To prepare for my future, I plan to learn four years of auto mechanics and engineering at East Los Angeles Community College. On the fifth year, I will think back and decide what I will specialize in whether it's engine, suspension, tires, etc. Having made my final decision, I plan to transfer to a university that will advance my knowledge in my automotive engineering specialty. Additionally, my

plan is to study technological engineering, chemistry, and physiology not only as a second career, but also to further my chances of achieving my main goal.

At present, my greatest achievement is getting a head start on my path as an automotive engineer. I signed up for college classes at sixteen years old. I cleared all the basic classes like English 26 and Mathematics 125, while I was still in high school. With this jump start, I have gotten a taste of what standards a community college requires of a student.

Lastly, regarding my character, I am helpful to my friends and honest in any relationship. I am a trustworthy person and a good son and brother. I respect my elders, teachers, and people that are trying to help me. I am a hard working person and I have good time management skills and I am always willing to listen to others to learn and expand my horizons. I think these qualities make me a great choice for any job.
