CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT PLAN Homework

Homework is a valuable tool to practice a particular concept. Homework will be assigned multiple times throughout each week. If students are unsure as to when and what the homework is, they can go to my website at: (website will be added here). Laboratory Activities Homework Participation & Responsibility Writing Assignments Tests & Quizzes Final Exam

Major grades consist of tests, quizzes, projects, and laboratory activities that require the student to use multiple science skills. They make up a large portion of the total grade. Daily grades are given to assignments that are less involved or are completed entirely within one class period. They include reviews, bell work, homework, and participation and make up a smaller portion of the total grade. Late Work Policy: Our job as parents and teachers is to make sure our students are learning responsibly. Students are expected to turn their work in on time. A late penalty of 25% per day late will be accessed for all late work. If a student is absent, they are to check my website for both the days activities. Printed copies of the assignment will be provided upon return if the student cannot access the site from home. Students have two days to complete class work for every day absent. Missing Assignments: It is important for each student to understand the content of the lesson. Students will be able to make up missing assignments for half credit. A chart will be posted every four weeks that will list the students completed and missing assignments. They will have until the end of that four week period to make up and missing work at half credit. Lab Safety Lab safety is a very important part of the science classroom. The students will be expected to follow the following lab safety rule. 1. Always wear goggles.

2. Stay in seat unless given permission to get up. 3. Never smell, taste, or touch materials in the lab unless instructed. 4. If exposed to any chemicals take the proper safety precautions. (Eye wash, safety shower, ect.) 5. If unclear about instructions, always ask first! 6. Be respectful of the lab equipment. 7. Be respectful of others in the lab. 8. Never do a lab without the teacher in the room. 9. Wash hands before leaving the lab. 10. No eating or drinking in the lab. If the student fails to follow the lab safety procedures their actions may result in receiving a zero on their lab. If the student becomes a danger to themselves or others, appropriate disciplinary actions will be taken. Classroom Expectations Each student will be expected to follow the following expectations. 1. BE PUNCTUAL. Have materials out and pencils sharpened. The student is expected to begin any bell work as soon as they are seated. 2. BE PREPARED. Bring all materials to class for each day. If you need to borrow a pen or paper, do so before class begins. 3. BE RESPECTFUL. The Golden Rule is my motto: do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Follow all class and school rules. Do not talk while I am teaching or giving instructions. If you have something to share, wait until you are acknowledged and then share. When doing class work, work quietly and be mindful of others. Take care of classroom materials. 4. BE RESPONSIBLE. Do all your class work and turn it in on time. If you are absent, be sure to check my link to learn what you missed, and complete any assignments by the timeline given. 5. BE ORGANIZED. Know where your materials are. Know what you need to do. Present your work legible and neatly. 6. BE AN ACHIEVER. Do your best in everything. Try your hardest. Aim for success. Get involved and ask questions

CHAPMS Expectations will be posted in the classroom for various types of activities. The expectations will be specific for groups, lectures, individual work, and laboratories. CHAMPs shows the expectations for each of the following areas:
