Josh Robinsons Philosophy of Classroom Management My philosophy of classroom management is T.E.A.M Work.

Like anything in life, when we work together to accomplish a certain task or goal it is much easier and more productive to do so in a team or group setting. The first aspect my philosophy is Together-ness. The next approach is to create an Effective learning environment through paying Attention to detail in all aspects of the classroom. Additionally, my philosophy includes Motivate learners through personalizing content and involving students. Finally, Work will be a necessity from all parties involved. Together-ness is important for several reasons. The first being that we will work together to accomplish a common goal. When I say we I am referring to me (the teacher), the student, the parents, and the administration. My students will know that I am here for them and that we are on the same team. Furthermore, together-ness is important to show that I know what is happening in my classroom at all times. Additionally, through together-ness students behavior will be monitored and inappropriate behavior is addressed in a manner not disrupting of the flow of the lesson, creating an effective classroom environment. Finally, students will work together to create a cooperative learning environment. An effective learning environment is one that consists of rules and procedures. In my classroom respect is given and expected to be received. Respect includes, but not limited to, students being in their seats and ready to learn at the sound of the bell, being prepared for classroom activities, listening while someone is talking, respecting others opinions, no use of cell phones, and asking questions relevant to the topic at hand. Creating an effective learning environment is not limited to establishing and enforcing rules, but to preparation as a teacher. Lesson plans will be completed ahead of time and in doing so will increase the actual academic learning time spent in the classroom. Attention to detail is incorporates together-ness and creating an effective learning environment. Paying attention to detail will show my students that I care and wont accept mediocrity. We are in this for the long haul. Addressing errors in the moment that they happen will also set boundaries and students will clearly understand where the line is, thus preventing further misunderstandings. A key aspect to my philosophy of classroom management is motivation. I plan to motivate my students through establishing a routine and using different methods to present material. Motivating students starts with me. I will present the material in a way in which the student(s) can relate. This will be achieved by varying the methods in which I present the material- visually, discussions, group learning, lectures, etc. In conclusion, my philosophy of classroom management is to work at it. It will take effort from me, the students, the parents, and the administration. Anything worth having takes work. Students will be required to work in my classroom. I will work at creating together-ness, creating an effective learning environment through paying attention to detail, and motivating students. It will be a process and is ever changing.
