To Whom It May Concern: I am seeking a position in your organization as a preschool teacher. I am a graduate of Northern Virginia Community College (NVCC) with an Associates Degree of Applied Science in the Early Childhood field. Prior to attaining my degree I earned career studies certificates through NVCC and endorsements through the Virginia Department of Social Services for Infant and Toddlers and Early Childhood. I have 8 years of teaching experience. While teaching I have become a mentor to new teachers, implemented new strategies for our center, and I am the go to person for technology assistance. I am a team player and have been known to put on a costume for an event, answer phones, and help customers of our facility. My colleagues seek me out for consultation when difficult situations arise. My excitement for learning transcends to my students. I provide them with meaningful experiences so that they can relate to the information in their current age and stage of development. I provide strategies for all types of learning abilities. Family involvement is important to me. It is through positive and reciprocal relationships that I have developed a nurturing and caring environment that includes understanding family dynamics, cultural differences, religious differences, and diversity. This all has an impact on children. I take a holistic approach in teaching. Without taking into consideration all the influences around a child and who that child is as an individual, I cannot begin to understand who they are as my student. I look forward to speaking with you, in person, so that I can share some of my experiences and answer any of your questions. Respectfully Yours, Michelle Ong
