1H Visual and Creative Arts Program Term 2 2013 Outcomes

Students make artworks representing both real and imagined situations exploring a range of techniques and media. They discuss qualities of artworks such as subject matter and technique, recognising that artists create artworks for different audiences. Week Learning Activities Evaluation Sign and Date 2 Helpful Hand Prints -Students create whole class artwork using handprints and names. This is to be used as a whole class job list by binding two bundles of hands together with zip ties. 3 Monsters - Using brown paper bags, PVA glue, scrap coloured paper and cardboard, pom poms, feathers and other collage items students create their own monster. This will then be used in a descriptive writing activity. Desert Painting Students view different Australian outback paintings and discuss the links with their HSIE unit Wet and Dry Environments. Students then use strong A3 paper and sketch an outline of a desert landscape. Using red, orange, yellow, white and brown paint the children paint their backgrounds with a sunset theme. Using black paper the children draw cut out an intricate tree shape and stick it on top of their landscape to create a shadowed tree in the

foreground. E.g: Cubist Music Pieces - See Art Rotation Program Jelly Fish Using streamers, cardboard cups, googly eyes and glitter students create 3D jelly fish that are displayed in the Wet Environment display area of the classroom. Dry Environments- Students create a collage using a range of selected materials provided by the class teacher. This collage is to represent a dry environment.
