Some of the struggles that prevent Latino students of pursuing higher education are the environment they live in, financial problems, and legal status.

 Environment: we have to take a look at gang violence and the reasons why Latino teenagers adopt this life style. Gangs were created because young Mexicans wanted to feel accepted and wanted to have the feel of a family. Financial Problems: Many people dont know about financial aid, and therefore assume that they cant afford school. Parents were raised to only work and thats what they teach their children. Legal Status: its a barrier because undocumented students were not able to qualify for financial aid, pushing them to not try to go to a university.
