needed: smart board, ipads, ipad charger cables Standards: Behavioral Objective Students will be able to identify important figures in Greek Mythology. Students will be able to design and create a video presentation. Students will be able to associate Greek Mythological creatures with Greek History. Enduring understanding Understanding historical data is a process by which we construct meaning about the information of the past and its lasting effects on society. The use of technology is a process by which we complete tasks or convey information using technological advances in a faster way. Essential questions How is history a process of connecting past historical events to how society has been shaped today? How has technology changed society in recent years? Standards 8.1.6.B: Differentiate between fact and opinion, multiple points of view, and primary and secondary sources to explain historical events. CC.8.6.6-8.B: Write informative/explanatory texts, including the narration of historical events, scientific procedures/ experiments, or technical processes Facilitate and inspire student learning and creativity Design and develop digital age learning experiences and assessments Assessments: Formal: Students will take a short quiz after the smart board presentation to convey their understanding of Greek mythological creatures.

Informal: Students will be given an assignment to create a video presentation of a Greek mythological creature; a rubric will accompany the assignment. Procedures: Step one: Teacher: As students enter the classroom I will have the daily event that happened in history on that day on the board to start the class Students: students will enter the classroom and sit in their assigned seats Step two: Teacher: I will instruct students to take out their notebooks and pencils to copy notes from the Smart board presentation, and set up the presentation Students: Students will take out their notebooks and pencils Step three: Teacher: I will begin the smart board presentation that has information and a short video. During the presentation I will have students take notes. After the presentation there will be a short quiz on the smart board. I will have students right down their answers and I will collect them, then I will have volunteers come up and touch the answer they believe to be correct Students: Students will take notes then take a quiz and afterwards will volunteer to answer the questions on the board Step four: Teacher: I will then have students form small groups by moving their chairs around to makes groups of four to five Students: Students will form small groups Step five: Teacher: I will instruct students to grab an ipad for their group Students: Students will grab an ipad for each group Step six: Teacher: I will then go into detail on the next assignment. Students will create a short play on a mythical creature or God. The play can be held in the past or modern times, as well as musical or humorous. Students will have two days to create the play, they will have to do research first and then during the followinh class period they can record their presentation.

Students: Students will take notes on their next assignment such as the criteria and due date. Step seven: Teacher: I will allow students to begin researching their mythical creature or God on the ipads for the last few minutes in class Students: Students will begin forming their ideas on what they would like to base their play on Step eight: Teacher: I will have students return their ipads to the docking station and rearrange their seats back in order and will then ask if there are any questions. I will answer any questions and then allow students to leave Students: Students will return the ipads to the docking station and will rearrange their seats. Students that are confused or have additional questions will ask them. Students will then leave
