The Assimilating Youth

Thesis Statement

The 1960s leaders contributed to build brotherhoods and sisterhoods to become more united in the struggle of not having the political voice. Through their history they battled to not assimilate the white system as of now the 21st century these multicultural organizations are starting to peel away from their initial roots and have assimilated the white Greek life the focus is more on doing community service than political service.

Overall Claim

My overall Claim was that Brotherhoods and Sisterhoods were being created to defend the Chicanos political standards, as of now these brotherhoods and sisterhoods are not what they have been initially started as. This is where the assimilation to the Greek system comes into play and for others to take a look into what the beginning of the 1960s was, a time of stepping up and leading against assimilating to a history that were not from.

Research Questions

What impact did MAYA have in the initiation of the 1960s? What was so important about the L-A blowouts? Which organizations were involved in the Chicanos youths lives? What's the problem with the Greek structure to Multicultural assimilating it? What does LULAC have in common with organizations today?

There are two websites in which I got more information about Fraternities and Sororities in America The General History of Fraternities and Sororities in the United States and Social media and Greek organizations I also gathered information from those who belonged in a fraternity and Sorority as well as two people are not involved. The league of United Latin American Citizens helped me understand more about LULAC and what their purpose was
