Quizlet

Google Drive/Docs

Quizlet is a great resource to help prepare students for tests and quizzes. They can create study guides and flashcards using this online tool. Google Drive/Docs is a great way for a group of students to do a project together. It is super easy to create and the document can be seen by everyone in the group. PowerPoint is used for a slide show presentation and used in many classrooms. It is an easy way to give a lecture and a good resource for the students that were not able to get all the information down. It is a very popular learning resource for many students. Google Scholar is an awesome research tool. It is used to find information on specific topics. Using this search tool, one can come across many sources, that include these, books, abstracts, and articles.

In the classroom, there should be time given to students to create flashcards. If this was done, it would be easier to students to get motivated to study for their tests.

In the classroom, the teacher should assign a topic for each group to do research on, such as an author study or an informational report. Each student would have to participate in writing the paper, which could be completed on a Google Doc. In the classroom, PowerPoint could be used to give a lesson. The teacher should assign two to three people in a group to teach a lesson out of a History or Psychology class. It should not be particularly too hard of a subject to grasp because it is the job of the teacher to teach the students. By having the students present, it makes them get over their fear of public speaking.

Todays Meet

SurveyMonkey

Pinterest

Socrative

Mindjet

Todays Meet is a considerable website for a classroom that has rough topics or when no one likes to voice their opinions. In my ETE 280 class, we have just started to use this program because the topics we are getting into may cause controversy and this is the easiest way to talk anonymous. SurveyMonkey is a free tool for students to create questionnaires, surveys, polls. It has instant feedback and anonymous to those participating on the website. Pinterest is an awesome website for finding basically anything one is looking for. It is a virtual pinboard that allows people to find and post images that are on the web. It can be organized in different categories to keep everything separate. Socrative lets students engage in the classroom by using their smartphones. The students would login through their mobile device and take an assessment that could include multiple choices, true/false, and short answers. Mindjet is basically like a virtual whiteboard. Students can structure ideas and brainstorm for an assignment or paper. Blackboard is a website that is used throughout schools and universities. It allows teachers to keep updated grades and upload their notes.

In the classroom, the teacher can use Todays Meet to talk about difficult topics. They can provide laptops for the classroom or use the computer lab. The teacher can create a lesson plan on a topic such as race, gender, or exceptionality. The students can respond, ask questions, or state things they have gone through related to that topic.

In the classroom, SurveyMonkey can be used to have the students write a paper based on research. The students can come up with a hypothesis and create a SurveyMonkey based on it. In the classroom, students can create multiple boards based on a topic of their choosing. They should have multiple pins for that topic that relate back to a different website. They could have topics such as weddings, school lessons, dream house, or places they want to travel. From doing this, they can create a paper based on what they have pinned and explain in detail why they chose what they did. In the classroom, this will only be beneficial if the app does not allow the students to exit out and search the web for the answers. I am not familiar with this app but I think it would be great for having mini quizzes in class after a lesson that was taught for a participation grade.

In the classroom, students can use Mindjet to plan out a paper they are assigned to write in class. This mind-mapping tool should be part of their grade because the idea of using it could be beneficial to them in the future. In the classroom, students should be required to check this website daily, like it is their email. They can get prepared for college because that is the number one thing to do every few hours.
