Day 6 Lesson Plan

Objectives:
Students will recall information about the significant elements of religious, philosophical and
educational reform. (DOK 1)(MS.8.SS. 4 a, b, c and d; 6a) ( NCSS Theme 10 ) ( CCSS 6-8. 2, 3
and 4)

Opening (Set)
Good morning students, today we will be working on the Chapter 14 Guided Reading and
Reteaching worksheets. First, we will do a BellRinger and then we will begin working on the
worksheets. After you finish your worksheets begin working on your Section 2 and 3 Cornell
notes.

Learning Tasks (Procedures)
A. Tell the students to get out a sheet of paper and begin the BellRinger. Have the
students write a few sentences in their own words and have a short discussion
over their answers. After discussion have the students turn in their BellRinger.
B. After the BellRinger, pass out the Chapter 14 Guided Reading and Reteaching
worksheets.
C. Have the students turn their worksheets in on the desk in the front of class after
completion.
D. Tell the students that they will work on their Section 2 and 3 Cornell notes after
they finish the worksheets. Tell them that they need to try to finish them today
because they may not have any other time to work on them.




Closure:
In the last few minutes of class tell the students that they will have a quiz over Section 2
tomorrow. Then, after the quiz we will discuss the Section 2 powerpoint.
