I am writing to recommend Benjamin Nesbit for the position of English Instructor. I have been Benjamin’s advisor
while he pursued his Master’s degree in Information and Learning Technologies (ILT) – from which he will
graduate on December 12, 2009 – and have been his instructor. I have known Benjamin for almost two years.

Benjamin has been an excellent student in the ILT Master’s program. The ILT courses are demanding, challenging,
and require students to be self-directed in order to meet the objectives. Benjamin’s projects consistently demonstrate
his ability to integrate learning theory and instructional technology concepts into his project solutions, while still
expressing his natural intuition and creativity for instructional design and technology integration to support student
learning. These courses also require students to participate in and lead discussions, and engage in peer teaching and
review activities. Benjamin’s contributions in these areas always reflect an understanding of the audience, an ability
to involve participants in relevant discourse, and a sensitivity to group dynamics.

Benjamin seeks out opportunities to gain additional knowledge and expertise, making him a true lifelong learner. I
have been impressed with his desire to go beyond the stated requirements of the program as he pursues his specific
learning goals; the professional quality of his coursework is a testament to his commitment to meet these goals.
