We have four types of sentences: statements, questions,
exclamations and commands. Sentences have two parts: a

Learning Objectives -Students will be able to tell how many types of sentences we
have in the English language.

types.
-Students will be able to give the meaning of each type with
examples.
-Students will know what each type ends with. (Question mark,
period, exclamation mark).
-Students will be able to know how many parts a sentence has.
- Students will be able to know what the parts of the sentences
are.
-Students will be able to know the meaning of each part and
give examples.

- Students will be able to know that two sentences can be joined
using the conjunction and.
Materials 1) - Overhead projector
2) - 3 dry-erase markers ( Red, Green and Blue)
3) - Computers with Microsoft Word installed
4) - Printer
Procedure 1) 1) Teacher will divide class into groups of 3 or 4.
2) 2) Teacher will introduce the lesson in an interesting way.
3) 3) Teacher will ask students what they think sentences are and
what they know about them.
4) 4) Teacher will ask them to type sentences on Microsoft Word
about anything that comes to their mind and will help students
print them.
5) 5) Teacher will choose one of her students papers and write the
sentence on the overhead projector and will start going deeper
into the lesson little by little.
Technology Uses This lesson consumes classroom computers, printer, and
overhead projector.
Analysis and Extension Students will be assessed in the following way:
One student from one group uses teachers overhead projector
to write the sentence they had already typed, a second student
from a different group comes up to determine the type, a third
student from another group will tell the parts of it and so on,
until all of the students from all groups will have shared their
sentences with their classmates and participated in this activity.
