" Modoc" is a Tale of the Bond Shared Between Man and

Animal

A retired fire chief with several decades of service behind him,
Ronald J . Pawley now enjoys multiple hobbies and passions. In
addition to interests such as gardening, landscaping, car
restoration, and charitable causes, Ronald J . Pawley is an animal
lover. After reading the novel Modoc, Mr. Pawley was inspired by
the life of elephants, and the way their capacity for love and
loyalty mirrors that of human bonds. Having been touched by its
real-life story, he has highly recommended the novel to others.
What is the story of Modoc?

Modoc is the true tale of a circus elephant who rose to fame and
developed a strong bond with her trainer, Bram Gunterstein, who
inherits the role as Modocs trainer from his deceased father.
Over time, the pair become separated after the circus is sold to a
nefarious man, Mr. North, and Bram must use his guile to reunite
with Modoc. After successfully hiding away with Modoc, Bram
learns that North is tracking the two to reclaim the elephant.
Although another series of obstacles separates the man from his
elephant companion, Bram continues fighting for Modoc
throughout the years, revealing the close bond that man and
animal can share.
