The project was developed in line with the US
Green Building Council LEED rating system. It is
one of the first eco-friendly official buildings in
Abu Dhabi,
Made up of recyclable kind of materials like steel,
concrete and glass, and includes a district cooling
plant, as well as efficient lighting and water
systems.
The cladding panels were assembled on site,
as this made transportation simpler, and
positioned from inside the building.
Prefabricated toilet pods were used to save
time and money.
The use of slip form type formwork for
sturdier and faster construction work.
Slip Form
The formwork and the access platform are
assembled on the ground.
The assembly is raised using hydraulic jacks.
As the formwork rises continously, continuous
concrete and rebar supply are needed until the
operation is finished.
At the end of the operation the formwork is
removed using a crane.
The entire process is thoroughly inspected and
highly controlled.

Advantages
Slip forming is best used when there islittle
need to change the formwork.
The costs are higher in setup butreduced
overall due to the speed of completion.
There is a minimum height of construction of
about four floors,above which the cost of slip
formingbecomes economical.
