School Profile
Melinda Potlongo
Horne Elementary was named for a veteran Cy-Fair
teacher of 36 years, Magdalene Horne. Mrs. Horne
gave our school a legacy of excellence and a dedication
to the belief that children are our future.

Horne Elementary is a Title 1 campus in the Cypress
Fairbanks Independent School District. During the
2012-2013 school year Horne had a total of 1,052
students enrolled. Sixty-six percent of the students
were identified as economically disadvantaged, and
thirty-two percent of the were identified as English
language learners.

It is the goal at Horne Elementary that all students
reach their maximum potential both socially and
academically. We strive to build upon each student's
strengths while developing personal responsibility so
that each student may reach their academic goals in all
core subject areas.
