Expository Essay

My children a new dispensation comes to us today. Will you receive it? Will you free
yourselves? Will you recover the lands stolen three hundred years ago from your
forefathers by the hated Spaniards? We must act at once
(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grito_de_Dolores). A speech like this from the well known
Miguel Hidalgo drives me to learn about Spanish and Mexico. Mexico is a wonderful place
filled with wonders and interest. Like how Hidalgo led the Mexican Independance War or
how simplistic TPR really is. Spanish is the mainstream language of Mexico, a way to teach
Spanish is known as TPR (Touch Physical Response), but why just learn the language
when you could learn about its origins, also you may want to know the important people of
Mexico.

One of the many way to teach Spanish is known as TPR. TPR is known as
Touch Physical Response. TPR has a lot of instructions in it A teacher or guidance will
tell you a command in that certain language and you will of course follow it. This especially
works for visual learners because you are performing the action and this process makes it
so that your brain remembers the word by action. TPR was created by James Asher,
professor at San Jose State University. Asher realized that children learn their language by
their parents verbally and physically. But TPR has its flaws Like what if you cant do the
command? What if it was physically impossible? So other things like CLT (Communicative
language teaching) and The Silent Way. CLT is when you make a strong connection with
the learner so that there is no mental blocks and TSW (The Silent Way) is for the teacher to
talk a little as possible and let the student decide what he/she says. This then all leads to
the origins of Spanish...

Spanish is a common language in Mesoamerica, but where did it come from?
Spanish is a romance language that originated from the magnificent people Castile, an area
from Spain itself. Approximately 406 million people speak Spanish as a native language, 60
million as a secondary, and 20 million students as a foreign language. The Spanish
language blossomed from the language known as Vulgar Latin. This shows that throughout
Mesoamerica Spanish is used commonly and where Spanish came from Why is this
important? Well because not knowing your history is like being born and someone telling
you a lie and you believe in it. But why just learn about Spanish when you could also learn
about the people of Mexico..?

The importance of Mexico would be with no doubt nothing without the people.
Hernan Cortes, a spanish conquistador that made the Aztecs fall to its knees Miguel
Hidalgo y Costilla, a man who led the Mexican War of Independence Hernan Cortes was
a Spanish conquistador who brought the fall of the Aztecs and eventually made what today
is known as Mexico City. Also Miguel Hidalgo who led his people for independence. This is
important because without him Spains colonies would be ruling over the people of Mexico...

The teachings of Spanish to the origins of itself just to notice the brilliant people of
Mexico. This all shows that the people are willing to do whatever it takes to bring life to
Mexico and rule over it But there is a bigger question to all of this non-sense then one
might say Why does this matter? Well it matters because it shows our lives from a
different perspective.
