Carter Sheehan History Portfolio Reflection

3-20-14
The assassination of President John F. Kennedy was one of the most tragic events for the
American people to endure. Although the outcome of the events are clear, many individuals, including
eye witness, will argue about what really happened the day that President Kennedy was assassinated. Our
objective after analyzing multiple sources of information from film to news reports was to weigh in on the
subject and attempt to prove that the assassination of President Kennedy was or was not a conspiracy.
Ive chosen to reflect upon this assignment to add to my portfolio because it was a time of history
that interests me greatly. A time during history that the United States was very stable and created many
technological advances, and as a nation, we stood our ground against the world super powers. I enjoyed
the assignment because the assignment allowed me to state my opinion. This assignment, although
enjoyable, was challenging to provide evidence to prove that the opinion stated was correct.
While completing this assignment, I have learned many different aspects of providing an
evidence to a claim that I have. Providing evidence to support my claim to prove that the assassination of
President Kennedy was a conspiracy helped to further my understanding of the tragic events that occurred
that day.
