http://zunal.com/webquest.php?w=188607

2. Describe the Design as much as possible.

The design is a TRAVEL PLAN. In this Web Quest design, the teacher creates an itinerary
bound by certain real life constraints for the students to explore (It is a make believe
travel). The teacher will teach about facts about a certain place in the world. Also the time
should be budgeted and the money should be optimized in order to find a solution that
fulfills many factors.

3. Describe the Task for the WQ:

The students will search for travel information about one of the Spanish speaking
countries such as Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominican
Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama,
Paraguay, Peru, Spain, Uruguay, Venezuela. Then they will write and present about their
findings. They will explain what they would do in this particular country and what they
would do upon their arrival under a budget and time frame.

4. What the participants Roles

The role is of an investigator. They will do all the research on their own.

5. What is the Process for the webquest?

Students will first choose a Spanish speaking country that they would like to visit. Then
they will choose a city. They will research tourist information in order to figure out where
they would like to go explore such as tourist attractions. For example, museums beaches
tours etc. They also have to keep in mind what is the US Dollar worth in this particular
country because they have only $1000 to spend. The duration of the trip is 8 days and they
have to plan accordingly during this time. They also have to practice their future and
conditional tense to write their report one page in length. The vocabulary list will help them
with their paper. Finally at the end they will present their project to the class.

6. How will learners be evaluated in this WQ?

The learners will be evaluated with the use of a rubric. It is a very detailed and extensive
rubric that tells the student exactly what it takes to get the optimal score. The categories
that will be graded are the following: Pronunciation, Comprehension, Vocabulary,
Grammar and Content. The score of 6 is the lowest and the score of 30 is the highest. In
the category of pronunciation and comprehension the rubric requires that the
interferences of errors be minimal that does not interfere with the comprehension of the
message. They should have natural pauses and natural speed. The listeners should
understand what is being said. In the category of Vocabulary, Grammar and Content the
rubric requires the students to use a wide range of vocabulary appropriate to the theme.
Errors should never interfere with the message. The content should be accurate and
sufficient. There is also a student self-evaluation rubric that help the students match the
type of work they have produced with the expectations of their teacher.

7. Describe how the introduction is engaging to students

The introduction is engaging, but it can be more attention grabbing. It starts off by letting
the students know what they will be learning such as the research on the particular country
and how to use the conditional tenses. They have to explore fun activities for all age groups
such as for parents, grandparents and teenagers. It ends with by saying to be creative and
to have fun with the project.

8. Describe the conclusion and the credits? Are they satisfactory to you?

The conclusions are satisfactory because by the end of this web quest because the students
will learn a vast pool of information from various Spanish speaking countries. Their interest
will be peaked in perhaps learning more about that country or even visit themselves. The
conclusion is satisfactory, but it is missing something. Perhaps I would have written the
conclusion differently because perhaps visiting the library might not be sufficient for the
students. I would suggest other links and resources for the students to explore.
9. Are the images appropriate for the WQ? Explain

The images are appropriate because they are simple and to the point. There is an airplane,
earth, a student, a map, a thumbs up, and a checklist. The images add to what is written in
each category. I would perhaps have more interesting images to spark enthusiasm in my
students.

10. Describe how the usability (ease of use) for the WQ? Explain

The usability of the web quest is great. It is easy on the eyes and organized. Every link
works well and makes sense. The students will not have any difficulty in navigating the
site.
11. Would you consider using the Web Quests in your classes? Explain why or why
not?

I would love to use Web Quests in my classes because it incorporates technology and
culture. It is also engaging and it challenges the students to be researchers. They have to
look up the information themselves instead which sparks curiosity and a thirst for learning.
At the end of all their hard work they can feel that they have literary gone to the particular
country from so much research that they have acquired. This type of activity makes them
owners of their knowledge and motivates them to learn more about other Spanish speaking
countries in the world.
