Jane and Sue came to the elementary to coach Mr. Beyer, Mr. Stotesbery, Mr. Helland, and Ms. Raske through a couple of group observations Observations were followed by team discussion and reflection Afternoon large staff inservice covering element 1 in depth and overall coverage of the Marzanos philosophy as a whole
Week 3 Staff Meeting: Element 1 - October 7th Search: element 1 and show the developing levels for element 1 talk about PLC work for this week and next week
PLC WORK: October 14th continue developing rubrics and work on learning goals Examine the documents provided by administrator (writing learning goals, learning goal examples, and essential question writing)
Coaches Training at SCSC: October 10th and 11th Seven teacher coaches (Bob Helland, Chad Becker, Ryan Stotesbery, Terese Bergeman, Josette Eldridge, Julie Grabianowski, Julie Lehman, and Sara Wimmer) attended the coaches training at SCSC, which prepared them and the district to fulfill the coaching requirement for teacher evaluation. This also allowed for them to develop the understanding of the programming that was necessary in order to foster the newfound partnership in making this process a positive one for all staff
Large Group Inservice Day: October 16th: Presentation by Jane and Sue Continue to cover elements 1-5 for staff Answer and questions Covered the Scale/Rubrics Staff watched videos and practiced Rating them Each group was assigned an element and they were expected to know the element and what each rating looked like...asked to explain it to the group Teachers were asked to document on a stop sign what they needed help on moving forward
Week 5 Staff Meeting: Element 1 Review Go over element 1 again review the rubric and scales answer questions and staff rates themselves on understanding of elements go over iObservation system go tos as to get them going Have staff write a post it on the stop sign (staff rate themselves and also write a need to know as to drive future inservices
Week 6: Staff Meeting: November 4th Go over Pre and Post Conference form expectations Show the form on iObservation for staff

Coaches Training at MADELIA!: December 9th 30or more (7 from Madelia) area coaches went to Lake Crystal to authentically practice their use of Marzanos rubric and iObservation. They went into several classrooms to do this, followed by a conference as a coaching team after to facilitate learning and reflection on their understanding/misunderstandings of the scales.

Large Group In-service May 15: Half of the day will be looking over math curriculum and speaking to representatives from different math series. When there isnt a rep. in the building, teachers are to be in their PLC looking over the math curriculum material options. The second half of the day is reserved for staff to finish grades for quarter three.
