Introduction

Some 2005 – 2010 model year Tacoma vehicles may exhibit a squeal noise from the blower motor
when set to low speed during low ambient temperatures. A newly designed blower motor has
been made available to improve this condition.

This TSB applies to all 2005 – 2009 and to 2010 Tacoma vehicles produced BEFORE the Production
Change Effective VINs shown below.

• This repair is covered under the Toyota Comprehensive Warranty. This warranty is in effect for
36 months or 36,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the vehicle’s in-service date.

• Warranty application is limited to occurrence of the specified condition described in this

bulletin.

Blower Motor Squeal Noise at Low Ambient Temperatures

Repair Procedure

1. Disconnect the cable from the negative (–) battery terminal.

2. Disconnect the 2 clips and the blower motor 2-pin Figure 1. .
connector as shown in Figure 1.

3. Remove the 3 bolts and remove the blower motor Figure 2. .

as shown in Figure 2.

4. Install the NEW blower motor and the 3 bolts as shown in Figure 2.
5. Connect the 2-pin blower motor connector and the 2 clips as shown in Figure 1.
6. Connect the negative (–) battery terminal.
7. Confirm the blower motor operates correctly and the squeal noise is no longer present.
