We are continuing to work on our opinion
pieces to choose a class pet. They were
given 3 different pets to research (hermit
crabs, hamsters, and beta fish). This week,
they will be editing and publishing their
projects with EduCreations.

Fairytale Ball and reception
We will be continuing our unit about the
environment. Last week, the students discussed
the different environments impact where people
live. This week, we are continuing to see how
people impact the world they live in and why
chose to live there.
Please check the homework sheets in your childs
green folder. They will have reading, math, and
spelling. ! Make sure you are practicing spelling
words at home! Also, check to make sure the math
sheet has 2 sides.

Last week, we practiced our skills in retelling
stories. This week, we are identifying the main
topic and retelling key details of a text. We are
also explaining major differences between
fiction and nonfiction books. We are working on
speaking and listening standards during guided
reading. Dont forget about reading logs! These
will really help them meet their end of the year
goal!
Last week, students learned how to partition
circles, squares, and rectangles into halves and
fourths. Students worked on partitioning shapes
into equal pieces, using math vocabulary to
describe halves and fourths. This week, we are
working on organizing, collecting, and interpreting
data! We will also continue to have our math fact
drills on Wednesdays and Fri days!


Spi ri t Week
The student team leaders have planned a fun spirit week to
celebrate the end of the school year for track 1!
We hope your child joins in the fun!
Tues. May 27th-Twinsie Tuesday (Dress like a
friend or a couple of friends!)
Wed. May 28th-Sports Day (Wear your favorite
jersey or MES shirt!)
Thurs. May 29th-Nerd/Mustache Day (Have fun
dressing like a nerd and/or wear a mustache!)
Fri day May 30th-Holiday/Favorite Book Character
(Wear clothing and accessories in honor of your
favorite holiday (Easter, Christmas, Labor Day, Valentine's Day,
Your Birthday, etc.) OR dress as your favorite book character.
