Problem Statement:

Poverty is the current state of which the majority of people not

only in the United States but in countries all around the world
reside. One of the major issues with poverty is that it is resulting in
the characterization of impoverished people as people with no
importance or benefit to society. This mindset then is providing an
excuse for the government of the United States to overlook the
urgency of poverty and then to further put off dealing with it.
Americans can't continue to allow the poor to suffer and die.
Therefore, it is extremely significant for all Americans and people
worldwide to become fully aware of the issue of poverty including
its causes, resulting effects on people's lives, and the rest of the
world. I will write an Argumentation Speech that will investigate
and explore the contributing factors of poverty and how we can
acknowledge them in order to find the root of the problems and
prevent the further spread of these problems.

1. What are the causes of poverty?

2. Do the rich and poor have equal representation in the
government and society in order to escape suffering and poverty?

3. Is poverty a cause for illness and death in some countries?

4. How can poverty be prevented?

5. How can poverty be associated to a Dystopian society?

Dystopian Problems

In the United States, poverty, social inequality, government
corruption, and pollution are four problems that can result in a
dystopian society. Overall, poverty is one of the greatest risks to
the people of our world. And as poverty increases so does the
number of people who die due to the effects of being so
impoverished. The causes are numerous, including a lack of
individual responsibility, bad government policy, exploitation by
people and businesses with power and influence, or some
combination of these and other factors. There are theories that the
poor are responsible for their own poverty. But there are also many
who believe the poor are not to blame as there are many other
factors involved with the issue of poverty. Either way the poverty
within the people of the United States is increasing.
People who truly insist on poverty in the United States being
the result from outside factors other than the impoverished
themselves, mainly argue the inequality between the rich and the
poor within the government. They argue that the poorest people are
typically marginalized from society and have little representation
or voice in public and political debates, making it even harder to
escape poverty.
This other problem of social inequality in the United States is
directly affecting the issue of poverty. As many poor people are
not represented in the society this makes them weaker and
increases their chances of never being capable of escaping poverty.
The increasing gap of social statues due to economic differences is
also increasing the dilemma of poverty as the poor are less
beneficial to society.
This topic has lead to much debate over whether or not our
government actually has our best interests at heart, or if they are
only out for their own interests as they allow the government
policies, decisions, and practices to be manipulated, driven, or
formulated by the rich and powerful. These can be leaders of the
United States or other global actors such as multinational
corporations, institutions, and influential people. Most Americans
seem to be of the opinion that poverty is continually increasing and
government corruption is one of the major contributing factors in
the increase of poverty getting worse instead of better. Another
problem in the United States is pollution. Some theories for the
causes of air pollution are Cars, farming, and industry. Cars are
contributing to the pollution of the environment in many ways. Air
pollution just like poverty is a major cause to diseases and deaths
which then result in great social upheaval. All of these problems
are contributing to the result of more and more problems that are
upsetting the people in society and can eventually cause a
dystopian society.
