Comprehensively explain and present to a quality that reflects near-professional

standards fully detailed requirements and sources of requirements for a specific
media production

TASK

From all the pre-production you have carried out over the past year you need to pick one
and complete the following task.

You will need to show an excellent understanding of the requirements for the proposed
production and will be able to explain fully why each element is required.

You will give detailed explanations of how these requirements will be sourced and give full
consideration to codes of practice and regulatory issues.

From the table below you need to explain why each element was important to your chosen
production and detail how you would source them.

Importance
It is important to have finances in place before production starts, as every producer needs to pay
for Equipment used such as Cameras, tripods, green screen, lighting and sound. For an Advert
production for example, a producer may also need materials such correct costumes, items for
correct mise-en-scene and talent in order to fulfil the desired effect. Crew will also be needed
such as cameraman, soundman lighting engineer researchers editors and runners in order to
produce a professional looking advert.
Once all is complete facilities such as editing suits and postproduction equipment will be needed
and these cost a lot of money.

Importance
Equipment: when creating a production the use of equipment is crucial to the
process. If Inefficient equipment is used this will affect the fluidity and creation
of the production process. If there is a faulty microphone or camera the entire
development will be negatively affected. Depending on what kind of production
it is thats being created, certain equipment will be required. In order to create a
production of any sort the list of equipment will be fairly significant. With either
poor quality equipment or negligible equipment the entire production process
will be corrupted.
Transport: if some special equipment Is required to create the production then a
mode of transportation will be necessary to get It to and from the set, heavy and
labouring items of equipment. transport will be needed to get the cast of the
production to and from the set and production locations and also the filming
crew. private car hire may also be a necessity for the production along with the
hire of mini buses etc.
Talent: most Interesting productions will feature an extensive range of actors
male and female. it Is Important to keep your production interesting. it is also
important for you to make sure that your production remains within the
confines of orthodox film making when its your first major production perhaps,
which usually means sticking to a story line In which features multiple
characters.
Crew when creating a production it is of vital importance that you hire an able,
hardworking, competent crew of filming experts. A camera man, a special effects
specialist, editorials etc etc. it Is Important to have an expert covering every
aspect and element of the filming process in order to get the best production
results possible. If a poor crew Is hired or recommended then there will be a
poor end result.
Materials
It is Important to have appropriate materials for the type of production you're
making. If you were to create a short film about life in the 17th century, you
wouldn't dress your actors in futuristic clothing, you'd ensure that your talent
was dressed appropriately In the best quality clothing in order to create the best
visual aesthetic for the productions audience. the better quality the material and
the more fitting and appropriate it is, the better your production will appear.
Facility Hire
similar to materials, if you were to create a production based on life in the 17th
century you wouldn't hire out a laser quest studio, or create a space station using
a green screen. your facility hire must match the on going theme of your
production other wise the quality of the production dramatically increases and
its integrity is questioned.

Time: Deadlines
Availability of equipment Availability
of personnel (size of team; roles)

Importance

Deadlines deadlines can be set by production companies and if not met the
consequences can be significant. if the deadlines that are set are not met than
that could mean that your entire production scheme and idea could be scrapped
and taken off air. in order to be taken seriously as a first time producer
punctuality and promptness is important in order to make an impression on big
production and television companies. deadlines are set so that the Idea and
concept you have can be finalised as soon as possible, if deadlines aren't set then
it makes the entire thing an ongoing project .
