PYP Exhibition Reflection

This PYP ex. preparation and planning was probably the hardest ive ever done. But
there was some fun too. This PYP preparation and planning have taught me better
communication skills. For example, communicating in a positive and a clear way. Ive also
learned time management for example, using the time wisely and how to get peoples time for
meetings, interviews, etc. This topics planning was very hard for me because we had to do it
for around three weeks. I think that the planning for our group was useless and waste of time
because our group was ahead and have already done the prizi and the powtoon for the
assessment and summative task. I really appreciate our mentor, Mr.
Nelsons help. I think we couldn't of done this far without him for the help from him.
He has helped us in many ways and situation such as the help for developing some ideas,
helping through encouragement, etc. The research that we did wasn't helpful because we had
to tweak the inquiry focus a little.
The A4 planning (The tree activity planning) was helpful but I really think that I
should have done the planning before doing the paper surveys because the surveys because the
surveys did not match the three inquiry focus. We got our datas by the online survey,
interviews, and researches. For the online surveys, we did it to grade 7's about arguing in
sports. We also have interviewed Mr.Coogan, Miss.Gell, and Miss.Lenn. The main thing we
did for the inquiry focus was the interviews and surveys and i thought we could do something
else other than that because that wont be enough. We talked about this with Mr.Nelson(Our
mentor) and he agreed on that too. So Angus decided to make a brochure for his assessment
task.
On the day when it came to the time we present, I was nervous and other people were
too. This day we also had some big problem. My group were panicking a little because the
powtoon for my assessment task wasnt opening. We tried to open it many times but it didn't
work. So we decided to say it in words. I think the board will be more effective and better if we
put more things that we worked on. (more researches ,words, pictures, etc.) to look better
because all of our work was on our prezi. We worked well on explaining the prizi but again
Yuliy was saying the whole time and I saw people getting bored cause of that. So I said to him
Try to say only the main point of each slide then Yuliys talk went better and started to give
and sharee turns for us to explain.
