Comments:
Overall, after completing my written portfolio and portfolio presentation, I am feeling very confident in
my mastery of the Student Development Administration learning outcomes. Completing the portfolio
process has been a very rewarding opportunity to reflect upon and review my learning throughout the
SDA program.
The areas I have eperience the greatest growth are! understanding the foundations and emerging
nature of the profession and higher education "#O $%&, demonstrating s'ills in leadership "#O $(&, and
establishing and enhancing my professional identity "#O $%)&. These areas area all demonstrated in
my strengths learning outcome narrative reflection. In addition, my portfolio committee primarily
focused on as'ing *uestions about my growth in leadership and professional development. I received
very positive feedbac' from my committee about my demonstrated growth in confidence as a leader
and as a professional
The areas where I have room for continued development are #O $+ and #O $,. -urther reflection is
provided in my areas for growth learning outcome narrative. In summary!
#O $+. Since I did not participated in the /.A. trac' and did not see' internships specifically in
research and assessment, I had limited opportunities to conduct original research. 0owever, I gained
some eperience with assessment and technology through my professional position at 1dmonds
Community College.
#O $,. I gained a basic understanding of law through the 0igher 1ducation #aw class and an
understanding of policy and governance through the #eadership 2 3overnance class. 0owever, I had
few opportunities to engage with these issues in a practical, hands.on setting. In addition, 0igher
1ducation -inance is only offered during summer *uarter and I was unable to ta'e that course. This
meant that I gained no eposure to 0igher 1ducation -inance while in the SDA program ecept what
I learned tangentially through my professional position.

practice Comments: Although I demonstrated competence in assessment, evaluation,
technology, and research through Artifacts 3, 0, ? I feel that learning outcome $+ is
an area where I have room for continued growth. 5ot having ta'en the /.A. trac', I
