Context for the Task:
Students have been inquiring into the nature of health, particularly mental and physical health. This task
will enable students to further develop their understanding of one specific mental health issue.

Mental Illness Topics
Depression Bulimia Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
Post Natal Depression (PND) Anorexia Post Traumatic Stress (PTS)
Schizophrenia Bipolar Anxiety
Or another issue which you must have approved by your teacher.

You have been hired by the Department of Health to produce a Web resource to raise awareness of one (1)
mental health issue for young people as identified from the list above. Your web resource is to include the
following:
Outline the health issue you have chosen.
Explain the causes and effects of this particular health issue.
Discuss the possible treatment and/or management of this illness.
Investigate the support groups/services available in Wagga Wagga, as well as in the wider
community (NSW and Australia).

Students are to select a technology that will best enable them to produce an engaging, informative and
creative web resource to communicate their message to the intended target audience (young people).

Include a list of sources at the end of your web resource.
