Yale University
I would want to attend Yale because it is located in New Haven Connecticut or is also known as
The Elm City because of the beautiful elms that give this lovely city flare (Yale University). New havens
weather in the summer are humid and very warm and winters are cold with moderate snowfall , but with
the seasons changing the city always looks beautiful because of how the surroundings look.
Another reason why I would like to attend Yale is because of their history and it fascinates me
about their old roots and ties to history. The College School in the Colony of Connecticut was founded in
1701. In 1716 it moved to New Haven from Saybrook, and in 1718, the name was changed to Yale
College in honor of Elihu Yales gifts to the school it is the third-oldest university in the country and is
part of the elite Ivy League. Yale is a private university and their acceptance rate is 6.56% making them
school of only 12,223 students and 3,619 academic staff small and united in order to help one another, but
their methods of teaching are effective and thats another reason why the university attracts me. To be
admitted into Yale they see your SAT and ACT scores, GPA and also your academic involvement and in
order to be accepted you need to have a high GPA, you have to be involved with a lot of clubs and your
ACT and SAT have to be high.
Yales under graduate program for an Anthropology degree helps students determine what
subfield they would like to go in to for example (American Anthropological Association) medical
anthropology, forensic anthropology, and business anthropology. (richard bribiescas) Anthropology
degree at Yale offers you with a solid foundation of skills, such as critical reading, writing and thinking,
and an understanding of cross-cultural relations, as well as a launching point for an advanced degree. The
average cost of for an undergraduate is $44,000 for tuition, living $7,430 and personal expenses not
including books $6,070 which in total is about $60,900. The cost of attending this university may seem
overpriced but once you graduate from the university they help you look for a job.

San Francisco Conservatory of music
Ever since I was younger I wanted to be a musician, I want to play and compose music.
The San Francisco Conservatory of Music is the best place to go to accomplish my goals for the
future. The conservatory offers Composition, Guitar, Keyboard Instruments, Orchestral
Instruments and Voice just for a bachelors degree. The conservatory also offers Composition,
Conducting, Chamber Music, Guitar, Piano and Organ, Harpsichord, Orchestral Instruments,
Piano Accompanying, Timpani, Voice, which I believe is perfect since I want to learn to play
many instruments as well.
Another reason I would like to go to this university, the classes have a total of 24
semester credits broken down into 2 classes and electives. the classes are Ensemble or
independent study- 9 credits, private instruction-8 credits and electives-7 credits. They also
require you take keyboard instruments and guitar with these classes for a total of 24 credits.
broken down, its ensemble or independent study- 4 credits, private instruction-8 credits,
electives-12 credits.
The final reason, I would like to attend the Conservatory of music is because its in San
Francisco, Ive never been there and its one of the places I want to visit before I die. The
conservatory also offers recital opportunities, it even has a tumblr page where they post
opportunities, to play in concerts with other students from the conservatory. The San Francisco
conservatory of music also claims students such as Tian Yang liu, a first prize winner in the
international society of bassist. I believe this school is the best choice for me because of the
many opportunities it offers and the experience with alumni.

University of Los Angeles
The University of Los Angeles is located in LA, California, a state located on the West Coast of
the United States (LA Tourism & Convention Board). California is the most populous U.S. state,
home to one out of eight Americans, and it is the third largest state by area. L.A. is the most
populous city in the U.S. and the second-most populous in the United States. L.A. is home to
many famous attractions, including amusement parks, architectural landmarks, art museums and
galleries, beaches, parks, hiking and shopping, and many more.
The University of Los Angeles has many departments, but the one that interests me the most is
the School of Criminal Justice & Criminalistics. (Stephanie Diani)The School of Criminal
Justice and Criminalistics is located in the Hertzberg-Davis Forensic Science Building, which is
equipped with the latest technology and modern laboratories which provide students the
opportunity to fully engage in their educational experience ( Kyle Alexander). In this program I
will be able to learn and discuss the causes and correlates of crime, how the criminal justice
system operates, critical issues related to criminal justice, and how to improve our responses to
crime. This program will give me a lot of knowledge and insight in the department of criminal
justice, which will help me when I actually start my career.
