Further validate the survey. Fill in the gaps in the research. (Private Christian Schools) Research Problem Students are using technology in academically dishonest ways. The purpose of this study is to identify the ways that students use technology for academic dishonesty and to reveal their thoughts of what it means to cheat. The information gathered will help teachers and parents recognize the holes in students’ thinking. Review of Literature Survey Research No hypothesis. Method of Data Analysis Analysisof variance (ANOVA) Question – When evaluating responses to a survey, is all analysis ANOVA? Example: 13 yr. old females answer that storing notes in your cell phone to use during a test is a (67%) serious offense while 15 yr. old males believe it is (54%) not cheating at all. (hypothetical scenario) Role of the Researcher Theresearcher is to secure permissions required to conduct the survey for each campus as defined by each school’s research permissions procedures. The researcher will also be responsible for tabulating survey results. Qualitatively Speaking… Change the questions to reflect a more qualitative approach. For example: If you have engaged in cheating with the use of digital media, please tell me why. What motivated your behavior? What can classroom teachers do better to lessen the frequency of this behavior? Thoughts?
