1. Writing Philosophy: This piece describes my style of writing as something that makes me
think. I have never thought about the process I go through while writing and this forced
me to look at my style of writing as a fly on the wall.
2. Pretest Writing: At the beginning of the school year, we were asked to write about our
opinions about charity and incentives. I developed an opinion about charity that I had
never considered before. I proved points in my paper that I did not know I was capable of
proving. It is one of my better essays because my tone and point is clear and I prove a
valid point.
3. College Essay Openers: When we were asked to write college essays, we were required
to write the openers in several different ways. By doing this, it allowed me to rephrase
my topic multiple times in order to see the different ways my paper could be written.
4. Best College Essay: This essay is my most personal essay because it explains my brain
injury which I have been struggling with for a year and a half. Writing this essay allowed
me to state something which is important about me and express my feelings about it.
5. Best Rhetorical Analysis: This essay allowed me to interpret good traits of fiction writers.
By analyzing traits, I am able to apply them to myself.
6. Another Rhetorical Analysis: This piece of writing was difficult for me to write because
the prompt was hard for me to understand. I had to think about it for a while before I
could develop an opinion about it.
7. Best Synthesis Essay: This essay applied to politics and society. Those two topics are
what the world revolves around. By writing about this, I was able to apply my real world
knowledge.
8. Research Paper: This research paper was about lifestyle discrimination which is
something I feel greatly about. In five pages, I was able to fully express the way I feel
about the issue.
9. Speech Essay: I enjoyed writing and presenting this speech because I did not have to
write it as formally. I was able to write it as if I was speaking and it made it easier to
write.
10. Creative Piece Color Me Mine: This piece was enjoyable as well because it was about
my personality and who I am. I enjoy expressing myself and expressing myself with a
color made it more fun.
11. Myth of Sisyphus Thoughts and Connections: This myth represents a struggle in my
life and it made me think about my issue truly deeper. The myth can represent a struggle
in anyones life and gives someone to relate to.
12. Final Thoughts to Senior English Teacher: This letter explains what I am looking forward
to next year. Before this project, I never considered what I would be looking forward to.
It let me anticipate how I will handle the class next year and how I will do.
