Review objectives to ensure that it's appropriate for their grade level. Review the lesson for the next day to ensure we're all on the same page and we're being flexible
and follow through.
As your mentor, where
would you like more

Domain 1 Comments: Megan plans her lessons well in advance and they are
always submitted on time. The IWY portion of the lesson plan need to be
executed with fidelity. The Objective and purpose need to be stated early, at the
beginning of the lesson. Megan provides feedback on the Do Nows and Exit Slips;
however, they are already created, and she suggest revisions when she feels they
Domain 2 Comments: Megan looks and sounds confident in front of the students.
After she waits for 100% with the students she does not address actions (i.e.
kicking the desk, clapping hands, noises with mouth) that are distracting the
class. Megan need to make better use of the BMC when redirecting misbehavior.
Domain 3 Comments: Megan's attention to Do Nows and Exit Slips is a strength
for her. She does not use Cold Call and Think Pair Share regularly and should
include them in her lesson plans.
Domain 4 Comments: Megan has been timely in all of her requirements for the
school and CTR. She is professional and works well with her Triad. Megan
include CCSS on her lesson plans to ensure we are using the standards that are
appropriate for 1st Grade.

Domain 1 Comments: Megan ensures that she has a visual aid/anchor chart that the
students can refer to even after the lesson. She has to incorporate previewing the
objective with the students. Her "I Do" and "We Do" occurs consistently in her lesson.
Megan has execute the "You Do" portion of the lesson more often. When Megan checks
for understanding she has to observe the students that are not paying attention and use
the BMC to get them to refocus. She has to name the steps to provide the students with
Domain 2 Comments: Megan circulated the room, confering with students as they were
working with partners. Her transitions moves the students to their spots in a timely
manner. She has to narrate more, there are too many students not paying attention.
Megan has to find a student/partnership that is working well and celebrate it so other
students will want to do better.
Domain 3 Comments: Megan allows the students to work with partners to practice the
strategies taught. She will improve her practice of Think Pair Share with more practice.
Megan must insist that all students participate when she is checking for understanding.
Domain 4 Comments: Megan has been timely in all of her requirements for the school
and CTR. She is professional and works well with our Grade Level partners and her
Triad. Megan ensures completed assignments are scored and ready for inputting grades.
She attends Professional Development workshops which will assist with laying a
foundation for CCSS.

Domain 1 Comments: Megan is using the Lesson Plan template to submit her
lesson plans in a timely manner. She engages students in the lesson by
modeling for them and allowing them to help her model for the class. Megan
should incorporate more of the "You Do" in her lessons. She previews the
lessons with discussion that interests the students. Megan has to practice
wrapping up her lessons by bridging to the concepts of the next lesson.
Domain 2 Comments: Megan demonstrates positive framing by narrating
specific correct behavior that she notices students doing. She is using the
Incentive Systems more (i.e. adding/taking away table points, and using the
BMC) to command positive behavior. Megan does sweat the details by
correcting behavior and demanding that students do their best work.
Domain 3 Comments: Megan allows the students time to turn and work with
each other. She should provide higher order questioning during her lessons.
Megan has to work to keep to the allotted time for each subject by improving
her pacing.
Domain 4 Comments: Megan communicates with parents by providing
feedback on student behavior. She demonstrates professionalism when
working with her team and other teachers and staff members. Megan should
think through reteaching strategies to better serve the students. She is
becoming more familiar with the Common Core State Standards so she can
accurately used them when planning her lessons.

school.

Date Completed: March 7, 2014
Domain 1 Comments: Megan uses data from the NWEA breakdown reports to
determine the focus of her lessons. She groups the data to organize the
lessons in a logical, progressive manner. Megan sets the expectation for
listening, takes anecdotals, and allows the students to respond to what
they've read. The students are engaged and Megan makes sure they stay on
task throughout the entire lesson.
Domain 2 Comments: Megan has access to the materials she needs to pull
her small group for instruction. She should make sure the materials are at
the Guided Reading table in advance of the lesson and ensure that the table
is clear of other papers and materials before the lesson.
Domain 3 Comments: Megan circulates the room during instruction to check
in with students and assist them as needed. She uses the language the
students need to hear; however, she should work on asking the same
question in a different way when students struggle to respond.
Domain 4 Comments: Megan uses the data to plan her lessons. She is
working to use the data to determine regrouping and student progress.
Megan uses the Common Core State Standards to plan her lessons. Her
work ethic is very professional and respectful.
