1. Discuss the following factors which affect your efficiency and effectiveness as a teacher.

a. Philosophy of life
Having no experience in formal classroom teaching, I was able to formulate my teaching philosophy
from my experience in tutoring some of my classmates during my college years and teaching my
daughter when she was 2 years old, as well as being a student for more than 15 years.
As a student, I have experienced great teachers, some terrible ones, as well as a lot in between. In my
experience, excellent teachers have to establish a positive classroom atmosphere by building a good
relationship with their students and encouraging active class participation. They should not just expect
respect from the students, but should treat them with the same kind of respect and show that they care
and interested for them to learn.
I also realized that effective learning doesnt happen the same way with others. Each learner is unique
and has his own learning style. Being an effective teacher, one must consider the abilities of each
learner in order to create a learning experience that will satisfy their individual needs and ensure that
the topic is well understood and knows how to apply it in real life.
Having these philosophies in life and in learning is a great help in order to achieve efficiency and
effectiveness as agents of change.
