Your 2nd definition is more accurate to this meaning of rave. (Although the word is now more
associated with high intensity all night clubbing/dancing.)
as a verb it means to talk highly or favourably of something in such a way that it can be
incoherent or lavish in praise.

Its a term used by trance fans(techno) where basically you party all night using glow sticks
and swingin them around to the music. Check one out there the most fun you'll ever have
most big citys try having smoke free raves at least once a year. if your into trance try one.
