Lesson reflection about inserting picture and clip art
L. Alblooshi H00202632 Summary This lesson is about inserting a clips art and picture to PowerPoint Program. Lesson reflection The lesson was about the way of inserting clip are and a picture in PowerPoint. Since the students have to add things to the empty slide, I gave them an online game. The reason behind that is I wanted to connect the way of the correct things together. In other words, I wanted to connect the correct place of things with the correct way of inserting clip art and pictures in PowerPoint. The lesson atmosphere was relaxed, because of the game at the beginning and their behavior towards learning. It is important to have relaxing environment to help students learn (Kyriacou, 2007). The lesson in general was very good. However, the timing was incorrect. Since the students in grade three and they get lost every now and then, even with telling the directions more than three times, they get lost easily. In addition, some computers didnt have internet in, so each student that dont have internet will call the teacher and will lose the time. For that, it was a mistake that shouldnt happen, but with experience I will be better next time. Moreover, students were really engaged in the lesson, and they tried their best, because each student who finishes the activity will get a star. Using the reward and punishment system is very useful (McFarland & McDaniels, (n,d). When the student knows that there is a reward for behaving in a good way, or to finish the activity first in a correct way they do their best. On the other hand, when they know if they act in a certain way that the teacher doesnt like, they will avoid doing it, because they dont want to be punished. In addition, I used the repeating methodology for learning the target language, because with repeating they will memorize the word, and they will connect it to the picture in front of them. Because they were engaged in the class most of the students hit the target language, even most of the weak students did. When it was the time to get the student to learn the way of inserting a clip art and picture in PowerPoint, it was the time for repeating and organizing their ideas about the way to 2 Lesson reflection about inserting picture and clip art L. Giving feedback is a very essential thing to do in the class, because it shows the student the way to complete things. In other words, of the student was right he will go to the next step, if not he would do the thing again in the correct way with the help of the teacher.
