ISSV President, A.L. Ceferin was in Ljubljana from February to April for project wor. In !arc" s"e attended
t"e annual Cultural #a$aar, w"ic" was truly remarable. %"e e&ent, for specialists in arts and cultural
education, teac"ers, cultural worers and students, pro&ides an e'traordinary ran(e of cultural acti&ities,
includin( compellin( professional trainin( )wors"ops, lectures, t"eatre, puppet and dance performances or
film screenin(s* wit" commentary, and e'"ibition tours+. It is a one,day-one place e'"ibition for teac"ers,
c"ildren and youn( people to participate in and obtain information about all pro(rams and acti&ities in arts
and cultural education in Slo&enia.

A new disco&ery was t"e restored 11t" century castle Strmol near Cerklje, now used as a "i(",class retreat
for conferences and weeend stays. %"e castle is t"e site of lu'uriously appointed and beautifully restored
apartments. %"e result of t"e &isit is an article and a lar(e album of p"otos. Val&asor, w"o "ad been a (uest
t"ere, "ad written about t"e castle t"at belon(ed to t"e oldest Slo&enian nobility. %"e last owner of t"e castle
was 2ado 3ribar w"o "ad died tra(ically wit" "is wife in 1455, a &ictim of t"e war.
A &isit to t"e Pi&a Valley also resulted in additional p"otos of Zagorje, Grad Kalc, and t"e ancient fortified
place 6ilentabor. Pi&a is a &ery "istorical part of t"e country, and a (reat deal "as been written about it. So
t"is year it "as led to an article, written in !arc" in Ljubljana. A documentary was broadcast in Slo&enia at
t"is time, on t"e life and wor of a (reat Slo&enian man, t"e missionary Pedro 7pea. An article was written
for publication in t"e cate(ory, 8otable Slo&enes, in Slo&eniana 9eb$ine.

7n 11 April /011 t"e translation of Val&asorje& Aborni, t"e <,#oo Valvasoricon was presented by A.
Ceferin and #ojan ABman at t"e Slo&ene <t"no(rap"ic !useum in Ljubljana. Initially a presentation also at
t"e State Library of Victoria in !elbourne was intended, but t"is didnCt e&entuate t"en due to lac of funds.

In 8o&ember /011 we publis"ed t"is new ISSV web project. %"e idea is to trace and record t"e presence of
Slo&enian emi(rants in different countries w"ere t"ey "a&e establis"ed t"eir or(ani$ations and cultural
footprint. Victoria "as been completed, 8S9 as well. Slo&enian or(ani$ations and institutions are presented,
sc"ools w"ere Slo&enian "as been tau("t. %"e addresses are placed on a (oo(le map, a s"ort article sets
out t"e essential information, and an album pro&ides t"e &isual perspecti&e.
%"e project is well on t"e way. Furin( "er last &isit A. Ceferin establis"ed some contacts and spoen to
se&eral people from t"e %rieste re(ion about e'tendin( t"is principle to Slo&enes li&in( t"ere. So far people
"a&e been most interested in t"e project. 9e "ope to continue in /015.
