Johann Sebastian Bach was a German composer and musician born in 1685 in Eisenach, Germany who lived during the Baroque period. He composed over 200 cantatas, 12 sonatas, and works for orchestra, chorus, and soloists including the Brandenburg Concertos and St. John Passion. Bach received his early musical training from his older brother and studied organ and violin. He worked in several places in Germany during his life and is considered one of the most influential composers of all time.
